SUSTAINABILITY IN VET TRAINING

FINANCING The Sustainability in VET Training project benefits from a grant of EUR 166,294.00 received from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the EEA Funds. The aim of the Sustainability in VET Training project is to improve the quality of vocational education by updating curricula with elements related to sustainable development. The European Economic Area (EEA) funds include financial contributions from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway to create a green, competitive and inclusive Europe. The main goal is to reduce economic and social inequalities, as well as to strengthen ties between Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and Poland in the field of education. The Sustainability in VET Training project consists of five trips (3 program days and 2 days of travel), which take place from May to November. Each round is attended by 11 directors of vocational schools or teachers of vocational subjects from Wrocław and one support person from the Semper Avanti organization. The project takes place in the picturesque town of Flekkefjord in the south of Norway. During each seminar, participants visit local schools that strongly base their activities on the idea of sustainable development. In addition, teachers have the opportunity to learn about the Norwegian education system and exchange experiences. The project also includes a cultural program that allows you to get acquainted with the culture of Norway, which is also largely based on sustainable development and intensive actions taken at local levels.

PREPARATORY MEETING IN NORWAY On 17.03 - 20.03 our delegation visited Norway in order to prepare the Sustainability in VET Training project for Wrocław teachers in cooperation with the city of Wrocław. Amazing views, nice company and fruitful time - this is how this short trip can be summed up.

On June 12-16, the first seminar within the project was held, in which a group of directors of vocational schools from Wrocław took part. The group reached the beautiful town of Flekkefjord, where they visited local schools leading in the application of sustainable development. The program also included cultural attractions and visiting local towns in order to get acquainted with the culture of sustainable development, which is very popular in Norway. After the first seminar in June, there was a short break. Now, however, we are back with a vengeance, because on September 18, the next round of the seminar within the Norwegian project will take place, and soon after, on September 25, the next one. 3rd SEMINAR IN NORWAY! Another group of teachers from Wrocław spent a week in Norway as part of the "Sustainability in VET Education" project. During the trip, the teachers got to know the Norwegian education system. They were also introduced in detail to the idea of sustainable development in vocational education. There are many inspirations that are worth introducing to Polish education. Once again, we would like to thank EEA and Norway Grants, the City of Wrocław, Håskog and the Central European Chamber of Commerce for co-organization! 🧡

And another group reached beautiful Norway. This time much more winter. The group was impressed by the three vocational schools, which are characterized by a very high level of sustainable development strategy. Teachers from maritime, multi-branch and agricultural schools presented ways of implementing ecological and sustainable solutions in school everyday life. Participants also visited local trails, learning about the possibilities of using local resources in sustainable development.

5th SEMINAR EDITION! Another and in the same time last group of teachers and directors of vocational schools from Wrocław visited beautiful Norway this year as part of the Sustainability in VET Education project. Project participants visited schools that operate in accordance with the principles of sustainable development to be inspired to introduce changes in their schools as well. They also did not miss the opportunity to explore the surroundings of the beautiful Flekkefjord. This year's editions of the Sustainability in VET Training project have come to an end. We would like to thank our partners for co-organizing this valuable project! Now it's time for all project participants to meet and jointly create recommendations that will allow the pursuit of sustainable development in Wrocław's vocational schools! To be continued!
